20 ways to F-Up the Territory! No.18 Legislated Bigotry

20 ways how to F—k up an economy! Number 18 - Legislated Bigotry By our Local NT Government. (witnessed and written about by me, a lowly peasant, oops I mean citizen, but I don't want to steal their limelight, they did all the work... proudly.) Don’t get me wrong, continuously I’ve discussed economic factors and events with several sitting and aspiring politicians and pundits from both sides of the isle. To say Holes and Homes is their main concern would be an understatement, but forgiving the lack of economic and financial intelligence by both the local bureaucracy and the ignorant presented for us to vote for, what we have seen is that they can’t even get the Mining and Housing sector right, so we didn’t stand much of a chance for anything else. For those blaming either side for the problems, I say, they have both been as bad as each other, but given that we currently have a government with a massive, albeit, unstoppable majority of 18 members and an opposition of 2, this current government could really make some changes to fix things, but lets reflect first on both sides F-ups. I’m releasing one of these at a time, then I’ll provide 20 ways they might make some positive changes, so in the new year we might be able to re-invigorate our currently sitting government to get back to work and maybe represent the people again, as most who know me can attest, I have a critical mind, with a positive outlook. No. 18 Legislated Bigotry None more so than the implementation of the Anti-discrimination Commission in the NT in 1993 and the subsequent Act/s that have followed, has there been a more misdirected approach at removing free speech and legislating both thought, and expression. The subsequent “Social agenda” and “Equality” announcements, programs and investments, have had almost as devastating effect on our local economy and the health, both mental and physical, of society and its citizens, as past wars. Some could argue based on the evidence of shortened life spans in a world were people are living longer, higher rates of addiction and suicide, that the forced assimilation to Western culture alongside the reduction of requirements, normally attributed to accomplishment, is at best a failure. At worse, the programs have definitely contributed to the growing divide in local economic classes and the increasing rates of violent racially motivated attacks. The announcement and implementation of the “Special Measures” Program/s in the NT public Service has been economically, socially and ideologically disturbing. There is overwhelming evidence of the damage done through deficits in budgets due to restrictive employment programs. But, the demoralizing effect it has had on the public’s trust and perception is exacerbated by the ignorant displays and rhetoric of “representatives” of such measures. A cornerstone of our civilized society is communication, and in an ever more litigious and defamatory world infected by the subjectivity and dishonesty of those seeking to exploit and monetize the misuse and abuse of public funds, the educational, cultural and intellectual bias of merit is far more defensive and objective than the implementation of “legislated discrimination”. I was recently disturbed by the news that the NT Government hopes to further define their discrimination by implementing a “list” of Aboriginal and Torres strait Islanders educated enough to fulfill basic to supervisory tasks in the Public service. Not only is this idea directly relative to the “elevation” of privilege given to the “Aryan’s” during the third Reich in Nazi Germany, but it’s implementation can through a change of ideology, leadership or a stroke of a malevolent pen, become just as damaging and dangerous as the “Jewish Star” or “badge of shame”, worn by the Jews in the Second World War. The utopian socialist ideology of equality and equity is a wonderful Idea. It is only in reality that it is disastrous. Among every race colour or creed, all around the world it has led to the proliferation of “Resentment, deceit and arrogance”, which in turn have devastated families, economies and led to many deaths. For many of the intellectual class and those in public service “middle to upper management”, where their employment is directly aligned to idea’s, Equality, Equity, Socialism or neo-marxism, are seductively attractive. The very failure of the utopian ideology is explained away as due to the inadequacies of particular leader/s. I would ask any with a grain of common sense to cite one speck of evidence of the benefits of “diversity” that we have heard about for years? The evidence of its harms has been written in blood from Iraq to India, from Serbia to The Sudan, from Indonesia to Papua New guinea, From China to Tibet, from Fiji to the Philippines, from the aboriginal people to the Pygmy tribes of Australia. It is scary and devastating how easily so many people can be brainwashed by the sheer repetition and anointment of a word. Rhetoric and ideology will never be a substitute for reality. There is no idea or program too ridiculous to be accepted, even by the highly intelligent, if it provides a way for them to feel important, special or significant. One of the most important lessons I learnt growing up is that when people get used to preferential treatment, fair and equal treatment seems like discrimination. We all have inherent bias, legislating to remove the individual freedom and right to that bias does not remove it, it exacerbates it. The historical evidence and present indications have a price paid in blood and lives, and as a civilized society, it is our moral obligation to persevere against such tyranny. It has in my observation, become a depressing symbol of our community, presently, that we are demonizing those that produce, subsidizing those that refuse to produce and have idolized those that are motivated to complain by self-interest.
