Idiots require discipline...

Feb 04, 2018 5:02pm

I’ve had a few friend pull me up for my utter disdain for some of the rhetoric and misinformation and just blatant lies that some of our educators are teaching. I am a strong believer in education, but educators are not necessarily educated, many I’m sure have observed or experienced this at some time or other here in Australia. As a developing nation, at times, this is understandable, but it should never have been and never should be considered the norm. For those that meet me once, it seems incongruent for someone who smiles so often to have such a critical mind. But, most people meet me as a professional. The discipline and courage you experience, has like all men another side to it. Seldom shared or seen, I possess some healthy malevolence, as bad as any person, but respected for its value it gives me. I have been frustrated for many years. Many of the people I interact with on a daily basis, have been told different stories, many true, some lies and many still struggle to determine which is which. I notice just how, even the staunchest of people becomes enamoured at the presence of a smiling child. I liken a child to a computer hard drive, there is no bad information, no viruses, no abundance of horrible sh*t having been downloaded into it yet. It’s what we feed into their hard drives that starts the corruption of the files. When I observe, read, or I’m present when an educator gives their ideological opinion or espouses rhetoric that to a learned man is so obviously fiction either by ignorance, ineptitude or just plain laziness, my frustration leads me to oppose it. Those that know me understand the discipline I’ve conditioned over the years to remain calm when dealing with such situations. But, silence is not always the right or healthy option, and I am reminded by the statement attributed to JFK “The Only Thing Necessary for the Triumph of Evil is that Good Men Do Nothing”.
