There is a Political Vacuum, Australia’s Lack of Conservate representation

The reality of the Australian political landscape is a sad one, no true conservative party exists. Instead, both major political entities play a familiar game of rhetorical musical chairs, each one proclaiming a commitment to the people while expanding government control at every opportunity. These parties, despite their superficial differences, are moving toward the same inevitable end, an increasingly bureaucratic state with unchecked influence over every aspect of life. (Note- One Nation still pushes for greater interventions in policing, external military intervetionism etc, those are not conservative values)

Conservative values, particularly those that once characterised Australians, self-reliance, individual freedom, and economic sensibility, are not found in the platform of any party today. The supposed ‘right-leaning’ parties advocate for interventionism and increased government oversight almost as enthusiastically as their counterparts. Meanwhile, the Greens and modern-day Teals revel in an extremism that is more aligned with historical Marxist doctrines than anything resembling liberal democracy. Their embrace of identity politics, redistribution, and climate dogma serves as a reminder of the power of ideology over empirical analysis.

The educational system and national media play their part as well. The ABC and SBS have transitioned from their original missions of providing balanced information to serving as ideological vessels. Their narratives glorify collectivist policies, ignore the failures of socialist regimes, and reduce complex societal problems to simplistic answers involving more government, more taxation, and less freedom.

The missing conservative voice means that Australians have no option but to accept the creeping socialism imposed by parties and institutions alike. Its bloody disgraceful. But all is not lost. As seen in pockets across the Northern Territory, a desire for freedom is rising, particularly among the younger generations, a libertarian streak that rejects ideological conformity, demands accountability, and values economic opportunity over government handouts. These Gen Z individuals have begun to question the societal and economic costs of unchecked socialist growth, signaling hope for the future. From the author.
