Sams Summary of Personal Power

Ok so the original was like a 30-day program, but you can do it now in 7 days. You just have to repeat the habits for at least 30 days. This program teaches that you are stronger than you think, and you can learn to control how you feel, think, and act.

The main idea is that your life changes when you decide to change it. Nothing happens unless you choose to take action. First, you decide what you want. Then you take steps toward it. If something doesn’t work, you try a new way instead of giving up.

The program explains that people are pushed by two things -

  • Pain (things they want to avoid)

  • Pleasure (things they want more of)

If you want to change a bad habit, you must connect pain to staying the same and pleasure to changing. This helps your brain choose better actions. This validates my personal incentives theories so I'm already a believer.

Another big lesson is that your feelings affect what you do. When you move your body, change how you breathe, or speak with energy, your feelings change too. Standing tall and breathing deeply can make you feel stronger and braver. "Motion is emotion!"

The program also says that beliefs are powerful. If you believe “I can’t,” you stop trying. If you believe “I can learn,” you keep going. You can change beliefs by practicing new thoughts again and again.

It teaches that goals matter, but the most important part is who you become while chasing them. Small daily improvements make a big difference over time.

The Program encourages-

  • Taking care of your health

  • Treating relationships as a place to give, not just take

  • Seeing problems as challenges, not disasters

  • Always trying to get a little better each day

The main message is simple -

You control your choices, your habits, and your effort, and that gives you personal power From the Author - I have given myself a goal of reading 50 books on business and self-improvement this year or about 1 a week for 2026. I am going back through my library and picking a book (sometimes a program like this one) at random. Most of my friends don't read so these summaries are a twofer, they will summarise the book based on simple notes I take while reading, and then my readers, mates and colleagues can decide whether or not to buy it or download it on their kindle. I am not going to give the books a score, nor say which books to avoid, I've read books that I love that everyone said was crap, so I am going to stick to my summary, and try to keep my opinion and Bias subtle. Some of the books will be by audio, some in paper, If I start reading one and can't get into it, after 2 chapters, I'm gone, I'll pick up another.
